This is my favorite and most recent portrait. It has a good story to go with it too...
I was working on this picture in july, '04, just before the Curiosa tour came to the US. I found an eBay auction for two Meet and Greet passes to Curiosa, Phoenix, so didn't stop bidding until I won them! (Of course, this went up to 2,500 bucks, so I had to sell the second ticket) I wanted to draw/paint something for the guys, but with only a month to prepare I was too wired to come up with anything. In the last week I finished up this picture and framed it. I was honored enough to not only meet the band, but offer Robert a gift in exchange. ^_^ So I'm sorry that the quality is a little crappy, but this is a photo of a copy since the original has been given away.
You are so lucky!!! YOU MET THE CURE!!! This is a great dawing, you are very talented! I can imagine Robert Smith was delighted to be given such an amazing portrait! Thankyou for putting your (now Robert Smiths) portrait on DA!

Lucky you, I wish I could meet with the band too someday. And I'm glad that Robert really liked your portrait. You did a great job, you've captured this portrait so well that at first sight, I thought that he is smiling at me. It's beautiful, I cannot find words.... Amazing portrait, instant fave.
